Toledo, OH - Richie
Coy won his second consecutive Whelen Modified Winter Tour event at the
Toledo Speedway in the Glass City 90, Thursday night. The race was
shortened from it's original 150 lap distance due to the Thanksgiving
holiday.
Richard Davidowitz won his second NPGPro.com Pole Award of the Whelen
Modified Winter Tour with a lap time of 15.159 seconds at 126.578 Miles

was second fastest, followed by Keith Joseph, Rex Hoyle and Charli
Brown.
Davidowitz led until the first caution for Keith Joseph half-spinning
his Earthscapes Landscaping #22 in turn 2. Under this caution,
Davidowitz headed to pit road and handed the lead to Rex Hoyle, who led
the next 34 laps until Charli Brown spun coming off turn four on lap 42
to bring out the race's second caution. Brown stayed out to lead to the
KING Design Halfway Leader Award before pitting for service at lap 46
and rejoined at the tail of the field.
Richie Coy inherited the lead for the race's second restart at lap 48
with Rex Hoyle, Richard Davidowitz, Scott Bryant and AJ Giffin rounding
out the top 5. Rex Hoyle quickly fell off the pace as the leaders
passed to his inside and pitted at lap 50 with a stop and go pit stop.
Richard Davidowitz gave chase to Coy's Dr. Pepper Ford and led until
the race's third caution at lap 75 for AJ Griffin and Mike House
getting together in turn four while racing for the fourth and fifth
positions. This brought all the leaders to pit road for another round
of pit stops, while Rex Hoyle received the free pass back on to the
lead lap.
Coy's team would get him off pit road first as he lined up next to Rick
Underwood for the race's third restart at lap 82 with Scott Bryant
third, Keith Joseph fourth and Charli Brown in fifth.
Richie Coy flashed under the double Sunoco checkered flags for his
second straight Whelen Winter Tour win over Scott Bryant, Charli Brown,

Keith Joseph, Richard Davidowitz, AJ Griffin and Wayne Wildermuth.
The race saw 7 lead changes among 5 drivers and was slowed by 5 caution
flags for 22 laps. Richie Coy now leads the point standings by 20
points over Scott Bryant, Rex Hoyle, Mike House and Richard Davidowitz.
